Tomorrow

Windows 7 Professional and Enterprise will no longer receive any Critical or Important security updates for vulnerabilities from tomorrow, 10th January 2023. Windows 7 already reached the End of Support stage in its lifecycle in 2015, Extended End of Support ended in 2020, and now officially the Extended Security Updates phase will end.

Extended Security Updates will also end tomorrow for Windows 8.1 and Windows Server 2008/R2.

Upgrade Now

If you are still running Windows 7, 8.1, or Server 2008/R2 then it is an absolute necessity to upgrade now. Windows 10 (at a minimum) licenses will have to be bought but keep in mind that the Windows 10 End of Support phase will come in ~2.5 years (October 14th 2025).
